Lynchburg is full of great things to do in the Spring as the weather starts to warm up. Join the rest of the community at one of these events happening this weekend!

April 12: Hillcats Home Game at 6 – Enjoy the evening out at the field with your friends and family snacking on Cracker Jack’s and watching some baseball!

April 12: From Blossom to Bottle at Peaks of Otter Winery – Picnic, visit the farm animals, and taste the wine for free from Noon to 6 on Friday! A 5k race will be held on Saturday, the 13^th, so go ahead and sign up for that too while you are there.

April 13: Amazing Cooks Club at Amazement Square – Snack on foods from around the globe for $3 per child on Saturday. Yum!

               Apartment Therapy, a well-known source for decorating and organizing your home has created a top ten list of ways to customize a rental home. Here are our favorite five!

1. Buy furniture that will fit into your home. Over-sized furniture just makes you feel cramped. A sectional sofa can easily be split up to accommodate any shaped or sized room.
2. Add color and texture by layering rugs over your carpet. It creates a focal point and breaks up the room!
3. Create more storage to show off your most loved items. Think about utilizing the space above your head with lofted shelving units to utilize space that is often forgotten about.
4. Work with the quirky colors that may be a part of your rental home. Add touches that accent the color such as towels, curtains, or paintings.
5. Add curtains to your windows to dramatically change the look of your home. As long as they have a white backing to keep the community looking cohesive, add a funky print or pattern to create some pop.

All of these ideas can be created on a budget with some creative thinking and searching!

March 20^th marks the start of the Vernal Equinox, more commonly known as the first day of Spring. Did you know that Equinox is Latin for “equal night”, thus the nights and days are now almost completely equal within a day? The sun will rise and set exactly at due east and west!

Exciting News for Country Music Fans!

                Phil Vassar and Charlie Daniels will be in town this April as part of the fifth annual benefit for the Miller Home for Girls. On April 11^th, the duo will be performing at Phase 2 Dining & Entertainment with tickets running $35.00 or $95.00 for VIP.
